The Tribe Process
Tribe has developed an effective process that is customized for each client project. Our process includes three phases, along with milestones and measurement.
1. Discovery Phase
The more we know, the better our work will be. In addition to primary and secondary research, we have a portfolio of Tribe Tools that can offer fresh insights for the Discovery Phase. Mythological Branding© is Tribe’s proprietary approach to internal branding, based on an anthropological approach and rooted in the work of psychologist Ira Progoff and noted mythologist Joseph Campbell.
2. Strategic Phase
The Strategy Phase is built on the foundation of our learning from the Discovery Phase.
Tribe Tools we use for strategic planning include the Process Deck©, Communications Matrix©, Communications Compass© and Communications Roadmap©. Once this suite of tools is in place, the rest of the project rolls out fairly easily, because we have clear direction for what we need to do and how we’re going to do it.
3. Communication Vehicles Phase
This is the fun part, where we come up with ideas for the one-of-a-kind elements to deliver your communication strategy. Could be anything and everything (websites, blogsites, microsites, intranet content, live events, contests, coffee-table books, videos, postcards, giant graphics, small brochures, town halls, vlogs, magazines, training programs, wellness programs, mentor programs, social media programs, lobby fanfare or an airplane flying a message past your office windows).
Milestones
All these phases will be marked by critical milestones, from preparation to launch day to sustaining efforts. By putting those milestones down, we can arrange the process to meet those milestones on specific dates.
Measurement
Some of the most important milestones are pre- and post-measurements to gauge our success. We work with our clients at the beginning of a project to establish meaningful metrics for their particular business situation. Often, we use our Communications Scorecard© that allows us to compare pre- and post-scores on measures that are more intangible, from understanding of leadership’s vision to how thoroughly employees internalize the brand. Having these measurements in place provides a method for demonstrating your success in a quantifiable format.
